Join us this fall/winter for 5 months of creativity, collaboration, and fun as we bring High School Musical Jr. to the stage! Filled with memorable songs, energetic choreography, and themes of friendship, belonging, and breaking out of your comfort zone, this musical is the perfect opportunity for students to build confidence while developing their skills in our performance program and technical theatre program.
Throughout the session, students will rehearse, collaborate, and work together to create a dynamic production with guidance from our dedicated teachers and local industry mentors. The 5-month journey will culminate in a dress rehearsal, and final performance open to friends and family at Vertigo Studio Theatre — a professional black box theatre in the heart of downtown Calgary!
Performance Program

Legally Blonde Jr.
Join us this winter/spring for 5 months of carefree collaboration and fun, as we stage Legally Blonde: The Musical! (One act version). Just like TTC, this show is all about confidence, friendship, and staying true to yourself; a perfect recipe for a strong ensemble as students grow their skills in our performance program (singing, dancing, acting), and technical theatre program.
Over the session students will rehearse, collaborate, and create a fabulous show with help from our dedicated teachers and local industry mentors. The total 5 months will culminate in a dress rehearsal, cue to cue, and performance open to friends and family at Vertigo Studio Theatre - a professional black box theatre in the heart of downtown Calgary!
Session 2 (Winter/Spring 2026)
Epic: The Musical! Variety Show
Epic: The Musical! offers an action-packed journey through the world of Greek mythology. Students will explore the bold characters and cinematic story telling this musical has to offer.
A concept album by Jorge Rivera-Herrans, Epic: The Musical! consists of songs based on Homer’s “The Odyssey.” This musical landscape provides the opportunity for young theatre artists to interpret, devise, and design a variety-style show inspired by the lyrics and stories from within this vibrant world.

Into The Woods Variety Show
Step into the enchanted world of Into the Woods! In Triple Threat YYC’s spring session, students will bring their favourite fairytale characters to life through dynamic character development exercises and performance techniques. They’ll explore the humor, heart, and magic of the beloved musical, recreating its most iconic moments on stage. With a focus on movement, vocal techniques, and storytelling, students will build confidence, expand their performance skills, and put their own unique spin on the fractured fairytales we all know and love. The session will culminate in a variety show-style performance at Vertigo Studio Theatre!
Session 3 (Spring 2025)
Disney Villains Variety Show
Uncover the untold stories of Disney's most infamous villains! In Triple Threat YYC’s winter session, students will reimagine their favourite Disney villain and create a compelling backstory that explores who they were before they turned to the dark side. Through character development exercises, they’ll rewrite lyrics to their favourite songs, bringing a fresh twist to classic tunes. With a focus on movement and vocal techniques, students will build confidence, expand their performance skills, and prepare for an exciting variety show-style performance at the end of the session!
Session 2 (Winter 2025)
The Beatles Love! Variety Show
Inspired by Cirque du Soleil's take on iconic Beatles songs, students will be learning foundational performance skills set to the nostalgic soundscape. From the layered harmonies in "Because" to the grooving beat of "Get Back," Love presents the perfect opportunity for an immersive Triple Threat experience.
